REPAIR/SERVICES DEPARTMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Applicability of these Terms and Conditions
1.1. These terms and conditions apply to any repairs/services performed or to be performed by Africa Drone Kings (Pty) Ltd (“ADK”). By submitting any drones or equipment to ADK for repairs, requesting any services from ADK, and/or accepting any quote, you hereby agree to these terms and conditions, which shall constitute a binding agreement between yourself and ADK in respect of such repairs and matters related thereto. You acknowledge that you have been provided with, have read, understood, and agreed to all provisions of these terms and conditions.
1.2. ADK reserves the right to decline repairs in respect of any drone(s) in its sole and absolute discretion.
1.3. ADK may, from time to time, update these terms and conditions. Please ensure that you are familiar with the latest version hereof before submitting any new repair work.
2. Risk of Loss or Damage
2.1. While ADK takes reasonable steps to secure all drones submitted to it and to prevent any damage thereto (including during any repairs), ADK cannot be responsible for any theft, loss, or damage that occurs to any drone in its possession and/or during any repair work of any nature whatsoever. The client assumes full responsibility for all risk, loss or damage to any drone in ADK’s possession and during any repair work and indemnifies and holds ADK harmless in this regard (unless ADK is required to remain liable under any applicable law where such loss is due to its gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
2.2. In no event shall ADK be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever.
2.3. Despite best efforts, drone repairs can occasionally reveal or cause further internal damage, especially in crash-damaged units. If ADK is liable for any such damage, a refurbished equivalent may be offered by ADK as a replacement, subject to availability and at ADK’s sole and absolute discretion.
2.4. In some cases, a drone may need to be reset to factory settings or reformatted to complete diagnostics or repairs. ADK is not responsible for any data, settings, media, flight logs or software configurations lost or damaged during the repair process, regardless of cause.
2.5. The client acknowledges that damage may also be caused to the product by uncontrollable external factors, including (without limitation) fire, floods, high winds, and/or lightning strikes for which ADK shall not be liable.
3. Data Backup Responsibility
3.1. It is the client’s responsibility to back up all flight data, videos, and settings before submitting a drone for repair. ADK does not guarantee recovery or restoration of any data and accepts no liability for data loss.
3.2. The client warrants that they have backed up and secured all data contained on the device on a separate device prior to handing in the device.
3.3. The customer indemnifies and holds ADK harmless against any loss or corruption of data including but not limited to confidential, proprietary or personal information howsoever arising, and further the customer has removed any and all removable media and accordingly indemnifies ADK against the loss of any removable media.
4. Water-Damaged Drones
4.1. Without limitation to any other provision hereof, ADK will not repair any fault or damage to the product caused by illegal, improper or unauthorised use or modification of the product, including exposure to moisture, entry of foreign bodies (water, oil, sand etc.) or improper installation or operation and ADK reserves the right to decline repairs where liquid ingress is evident or suspected.
5. Checklist for Drone Repair/Service
5.1. All clients are required to complete a drop-off and post-repair checklist for repairs.
5.2. The client must submit in writing a statement with all specific repairs they need done in reasonable detail to ADK’s satisfaction.
6. Warranty on Workmanship & Parts
6.1. All workmanship carries a 12-month limited warranty. This means that ADK warrants the quality of the repair work carried out on the drone for a period of 12 months from the date of completion. During this period, if any fault arises as a result of poor workmanship on the part of ADK, ADK will, at its discretion, re-perform the repair at no additional cost to the client.
6.2. Replacement parts carry a warranty of up to 12 months, unless a shorter warranty is specified by the part manufacturer or unless otherwise indicated to the client (in each case, as communicated to the client together with the terms of any manufacturer warranty).
6.3. These warranties do not cover:
6.3.1. Any new or unrelated faults not caused by the repair;
6.3.2. Damage caused by further crashes, misuse, water ingress or any factors after the drone is returned to the client; and/or
6.3.3. Faults arising from modifications, tampering, or other repairs by third parties after collection.
6.4. This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, any right the client may have under the Consumer Protection Act No. 68 of 2008 (“CPA”).
6.5. If a warranty claim is made, the drone must be returned to ADK’s service centre. Courier fees (both ways) are at the client’s expense unless the warranty claim is approved.
6.6. No warranty hereunder shall cover any special, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever.
7. Quotes and Payment
7.1. Quotes are valid for 7 days only unless advised in writing.
7.2. A consultation/diagnostic fee of (Consumer: R750, Enterprise R850, and Agriculture R1250), including VAT (where applicable) will be required before any repair work begins.
7.3. We accept the following forms of payment for repairs: Cash, Visa, Mastercard, EFT (provided that proof of payment is submitted and confirmed by ADK prior to any repair work starting in the case of EFT).
7.4. Once the client approves any quote, the final invoice amount will be reduced by the consultation fee (unless the quote is subsequently cancelled). If the quote is not approved, the consultation fee is non-refundable.
7.5. Each invoice shall be payable by the client upon completion of repairs/service and before collection or delivery, whereafter interest will accrue thereon at the higher of 12% per month and at the rate permitted by the law.
7.6. ADK shall not accept cancellations after receiving an acceptance or approval of a quotation. The customer shall be liable for the full repair charges; alternatively, where any applicable law entitles the client to cancel, a reasonable cancellation penalty will be levied before the device is released in accordance with the CPA. No cancellation shall be accepted after the repairs are completed.
7.7. In some drone repairs, special parts are required and are not always readily available. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for parts that must be ordered for repairs.
7.8. No drone will be released to the client or their representative until all outstanding amounts due (including repair charges, parts, labour, storage, and any applicable courier fees) have been paid in full and payment has been verified by ADK.
7.9. Unless otherwise stated in any quote, all quoted amounts are inclusive of VAT (where applicable).
8. Loss of Waterproofing or IP Ratings
8.1. Any drone with an IP-rated or waterproof design will lose its ingress protection rating once opened or repaired by ADK. The client acknowledges this and indemnifies ADK for any such loss necessary to conduct the repair work.
9. Latent Damage Disclaimer
9.1. Drones with bent frames or propeller arms (amongst others) may have unseen internal damage. Crashes or physical shocks may cause hidden component failure (e.g., motherboard cracks or camera gimbal faults), which only become apparent after disassembly. ADK is not liable for such latent issues; however, ADK will communicate to the client about such issues.
9.2. Any resulting additional costs or repair decisions will be communicated to you and will require your approval in advance.
10. Uncollected Drones
10.1. You will be notified when any drone is ready for collection.
10.2. If any drone is not collected within 30 calendar days of such notice, ADK will charge a storage fee at the rate of R550 (inclusive of VAT) per month (on a pro rata basis), which will increase by R200 every 30 days thereafter. Payment for such storage will fall due at the end of each calendar month of storage.
10.3. To the extent permissible by law, if any drone remains uncollected for more than 3 calendar months and after 3 attempts to contact you (by phone or written communication) and after written notification to you (by SMS, email, or otherwise) with at least 1 month’s notice prior to such sale, such drone may be sold for its fair market value as reasonably determined by ADK to cover the storage and repair costs and any other amounts due by you. Any balance will be refunded to you (to a South African bank account nominated by you in writing). The sale of any uncollected drone shall comply with all applicable laws.
11. Collection Requirements
11.1. Drones will only be released once all fees are paid in full and the client presents a valid job card along with a South African ID or driver’s license.
11.2. If the owner is unable to collect the drone themselves, they must provide a signed letter of authorisation and a certified copy of their ID, together with the ID of the authorised collector.
11.3. Testing of the drone will be done inside a drone cage by an appointed, approved, and qualified ADK drone technician before the collection.
11.4. A video and/or photos will be taken during testing for the client’s satisfaction that their drone is in good working condition.
12. Repair Timelines

12.2. ADK commits to keeping clients informed throughout the process.
13. Access & Unlock Codes
13.1. To properly test your drone post-repair, ADK may require remote controller pairing, unlock PINs or app credentials.
13.2. Clients who decline to provide this information acknowledge that testing may be limited and warranty claims may be affected as a result.
14. Courier Services
14.1. You may agree to have any drone delivered to us and/or returned to you after completion of the repairs by courier service. If you wish to do so, please let us know and we will be in contact to make the necessary arrangements.

14.8. Clients are advised to inspect the package upon delivery. Any visible damage to the box should be reported immediately to the courier and noted on the delivery receipt. Internal damage must be reported to ADK within 48 hours of receipt, along with photo evidence.
